A cross-border labour market
Most private-sector employees live outside Monaco. Commuting is common, but a French address alone does not determine hiring priority under Law no. 629.
Work authorisation
Before a foreign employee starts work, the employer must obtain the required written authorisation and the employee must hold the permit corresponding to the role. The Employment Service assesses each individual file.
